Shape differentiation is only one element in understanding the complete aesthetic of an object. Vision cannot gain conclusive or accurate information about weight, hardness or texture. Nonetheless it does provide anticipatory information that can facilitate active haptic exploration.
This series of interactive wood pieces has been developed to question the pre-conceptions of wood as a solid - static material.
