Untitled 4
'Inter-sensory perception' is when information is used collectively from more than one of our senses. For instance, watching television provides both visual and auditory information. Within the area of inter-sensory perception is 'inter-sensory bias' - a continuous process in which our brain gives priority to the most relevant perceptual mode. This process is essential to ensure we gain the most relevant information about our surroundings. The strengths of vision are in its acute sensitivity to spatial detail. Nevertheless, the tactile input does serve to enhance the experience as it illustrates the haptic aesthetic of the form.
With this project I have introduced a more highly developed level of interaction - the intention of this is to allow the pieces to become more stimulating and engaging.
