Bag Drawings

Following the success of the pilot study, I devised a second project combining both secondary and primary research. The project was practiced with a group of level one students studying the Three Dimensional Design/Craft course, at the University of Brighton. Having already some evidence of the heightened experience of tactile perception when the visual element is removed, I designed a project with the intention of suppressing this visual input. In order to help the students to tune into the tactile sense, I first ran a one day drawing workshop in which the students were required to use their hands as a lens, to draw items that were concealed out of view.
